GOODWIN FOREST TRAIL RUN: CAMPING INFORMATION 23 Potter Road, Hampton, CT The Goodwin State Forest Group Campground area is reserved for the night of June 7 th for runners and their families. There is no additional fee for the tent camping. The entrance to the campground is located on the left side of Potter Road if entering from Route 6 … just past the Conservation Center. The campground accommodates a maximum of 40 people, historically there have been only 6-10 runners camping. The campground has two pavilions with picnic tables, a single (shared) firepit with benches and a porta-john. There is no electricity. Firewood is not always available at the site. If there is no firewood at the campsite, please only bring in locally sourced firewood to prevent the transmission of invasive tree pests. Important information: Water is not available at the campsite; campers must provide their own water. Nearby activities include fishing, hiking, nature trails, mountain biking and canoeing/kayaking with your own equipment on 135-acre Pine Acres Lake.
